Richard Salcido is the Executive Director of Family Service of El Paso, a non-profit social service agency whose purpose is to make counseling available to anyone regardless of ability to pay. In 2011, Family Service received the Award for Advancing Minority Mental Health by the American Psychiatric Association.

Mr. Salcido has served in his current role since 1996 and has been an employee of the organization since 1984. He has worked in the social service field since 1979. He was selected as Public Citizen of the Year in 2008 by the National Association of Social Workers Texas Chapter, El Paso Branch. In 2012, he was selected as Friend of the University of Texas – El Paso (UTEP) College of Health Sciences and School of Nursing. Mr. Salcido received the NAMI El Paso Joan Cherno Service Award in 2017.

Mr. Salcido earned his BA and MEd degrees from UTEP. He is a licensed professional counselor and an approved supervisor for licensed professional counselors in Texas.
