Willie Mae Bennett-Fripp has been the Executive Director of Committee for Boston Public Housing since January 1998. Willie Mae has worked in human services for nearly forty years. She has held positions of community organizing during racial tension, sat on the mayor’s girl gang task force, and worked with public housing residents to address human rights issues. For the past decade, Willie Mae continues to seek opportunities to look at need and adjust the approach to be sensitized to not only the racial, cultural, ethnic, linguistic and economic make-up of the public housing community, but also to address the power and impact of inclusiveness to effect policy change. In addition, Willie Mae has sat on the local Fair Housing board and two community research advisory boards; she also volunteers at a faith-base institution.
